In what will no doubt be a welcome move for the general guest public, Disneyland Paris has updated its camera rules and policy on professional equipment and accessories in its theme parks - here's what UK visitors need to know.

Disneyland Paris Banned Items 2026 - What's Now Prohibited

  • Telescopic poles, tripods, monopods, or any extension accessories for electronic devices, including but not limited to mobile phones, cameras, and video equipment if they exceed 20 cm when fully extended.
  • Professional cameras
  • Professional lenses exceeding 135 mm
  • Supports for cameras and devices (except phone supports) exceeding 20 cm when extended, including telescopic poles, tripods, and monopods
  • Lighting equipment and light supports
  • Microphones
  • Drones
  • Any equipment or material that may disturb the visitor experience, pose a danger, or be used for photography or filming (commercial, journalistic, or promotional purposes), as well as any device likely to compromise visitor safety or comfort.

Disneyland Paris has since clarified that clip-on microphones are permitted, but handheld microphones are not. Non-professional cameras are also still allowed, though where exactly the line sits between a non-professional and a professional camera hasn't been made particularly clear.

The rule change landed just weeks before the opening of Disney Adventure World - the long-awaited overhaul of Walt Disney Studios Park, due to open on 29th March 2026 with World of Frozen. The updated Disneyland Paris photography rules appear to be aimed squarely at guests bringing bulky professional equipment into the parks in a way that interferes with everyone else's experience. While we tend to notice it more at Walt Disney World than Disneyland Paris, the fact that Disneyland Paris has felt the need to formalise this policy suggests they've been receiving guest feedback about it for some time.

We've seen it ourselves - people with enormous camera sticks filming their way around the parks with seemingly little regard for the guests around them - so it's good to see Disneyland Paris taking a firmer stance on it.

What Does This Mean for UK Visitors?

For most British guests heading to Disneyland Paris, this is unlikely to affect your holiday in any meaningful way. Your phone is fine. A standard compact camera without a large lens should still be permitted, though the Disneyland Paris camera rules are vague enough that it's worth checking the official park website before you go.

If your kit includes a professional camera setup, an external microphone, or a tripod over 20 cm, you will need to rethink what you bring through the gates - or apply for proper media accreditation through Disney if that's applicable to your content. For the average family visiting, honestly? The removal of other people's tripods and ring lights from your eyeline is arguably an improvement.

The Mickey From The UK Policy

While we're not vloggers ourselves, the banning of handheld microphones and certain camera equipment is clearly aimed at that kind of content creation activity. Mickey From The UK is primarily a written blog with photography - and on the rare occasions we do film anything, we keep it low-key and make sure we're never drawing attention to ourselves or getting in the way of other guests. We use our phones for most of our content (because we're not shooting commercials, we're documenting our trip - and with social media image compression, 95% of the time people can't tell the difference anyway) and we don't take any professional-grade equipment into the parks without permission from Disney. We always blur out guest faces wherever possible, especially children. We treat the guests around us the same way we want to be treated as we're most likely on holiday too!

Disneyland Paris Camera Rules 2026 - Frequently Asked Questions

No. As of March 2026, Disneyland Paris has banned professional cameras and lenses exceeding 135mm from its theme parks. Non-professional cameras are still permitted, though the park has not defined exactly where that line sits.

Are tripods allowed in Disneyland Paris?

No. The Disneyland Paris tripod ban covers tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks that exceed 20cm when fully extended.

Can you take a selfie stick into Disneyland Paris?

Only if it measures under 20cm when fully extended. Anything larger - including most standard selfie sticks - is now prohibited.

Are microphones banned at Disneyland Paris?

Handheld microphones are banned. Clip-on (lavalier) microphones are permitted.

Can you take a GoPro into Disneyland Paris?

GoPros are not specifically mentioned in the rules. However, any mounting equipment exceeding 20cm when extended would fall under the ban, so chest mounts and poles would be a problem even if the camera itself is not.
