Typhoon Lagoon Closing September 2026: Quick Navigation

We'd previously reported that both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach would be open for the 2026 summer season, giving guests the rare luxury of choosing between two water parks rather than enjoying only the one that happens to be open that month. That double act has an end date now.

Typhoon Lagoon Closure Date Confirmed

Disney has confirmed that Typhoon Lagoon will close from 9th September 2026. The announcement on Disney's website doesn't include a reopening date, but points guests towards the other water park.

What This Means For UK Guests Visiting This Summer & Autumn

This is the bit that matters if you're a UK family who books around October half term, which falls in late October 2026. By that point, Typhoon Lagoon will have been closed for several weeks already, meaning a Blizzard Beach only situation for the whole of your trip.

If you're planning to take advantage of Disney having two water parks open, you now know you have until 9th September to enjoy both. Anyone travelling during the summer holidays in July or August will still get both parks, but September onwards is Blizzard Beach only until further notice.

Blizzard Beach Remains Open

Blizzard Beach will carry on operating as normal once Typhoon Lagoon shuts, so you're not looking at a complete water park blackout. It's the smaller of the two parks with its ski-resort-that-melted theming, but it's still a full day out with Summit Plummet often the headline draw for anyone after a thrill.

Should You Book Now While Both Parks Are Open

If having both water parks available matters to your trip, then booking a stay before 9th September 2026 is the only way to guarantee that. Prices for Walt Disney World holidays do fluctuate depending on dates, so it's often worth comparing a few different travel windows rather than fixing on one straight away. There are four offers for Walt Disney World 2026 stays still available for UK guests to take advantage of.
