Update: The walk-up list option has since been removed from both GEO-82 and Beak & Barrel in the My Disney Experience app. It's not clear yet whether this was added by mistake or simply isn't ready to roll out fully, so we'll update this article as soon as we know more. Original article below.

Walt Disney World's two toughest lounge bookings, EPCOT's adults-only GEO-82 and Magic Kingdom's pirate-themed Beak & Barrel, have both added a "Join Walk-Up List" option in the My Disney Experience app. It gives UK visitors without an Advance Dining Reservation a shot at getting in, although booking one 60 days ahead is still the more reliable option.

Article Summary

  • What's changed: a "Join Walk-Up List" button has appeared on both GEO-82 and Beak & Barrel's pages in the My Disney Experience app
  • GEO-82: a 21+ cocktail lounge inside Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, open since June 2025
  • Beak & Barrel: a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, open to all ages, open since August 2025
  • Why it's relevant to you: both have been notoriously hard to book, so a walk-up option gives UK visitors a shot at getting in without planning 60 days ahead
  • What to do now: keep checking both lounges in the app in the run-up to your trip

GEO-82 And Beak & Barrel Walk-Up Lists: Quick Navigation

What Has Changed In The App

Guests looking up either lounge in My Disney Experience will now see a "Join Walk-Up List" button sitting between the "Find on Map" and "Get Directions" options. Both lounges have run on Advance Dining Reservations only up to now, which for GEO-82 and Beak & Barrel has meant logging on the moment the booking window opens and hoping for the best. A walk-up option landing now, roughly a year after both venues opened, lines up with demand settling down a bit compared to launch.

It also means last-minute cancellations should be easier to snap up. Guests can cancel an ADR up to two hours before their reservation without being charged, and those freed-up tables can now go straight to the walk-up list instead of sitting empty.

GEO-82 vs Beak & Barrel At A Glance

Location EPCOT, inside Spaceship Earth Magic Kingdom, Adventureland
Age requirement 21+ only All ages welcome

Both lounges still take Advance Dining Reservations too - the walk-up list is an extra option, not a replacement.

What Is GEO-82

GEO-82 is the 21+ cocktail lounge tucked inside Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, named after the geodesic sphere's 1982 opening year. It's been open since June 2025 and has built a reputation as one of the harder reservations to land at Walt Disney World, largely thanks to the setting - views over World Celebration Gardens and the World Showcase Lagoon from inside one of the park's most recognisable structures.

GEO-82 Walk Up Option
Look out for the "Join Walk-Up List" button on the GEO-82 page in My Disney Experience

The menu leans on small plates and craft cocktails rather than anything you'd call a full meal, so it's more a stop for drinks and a nibble than dinner. Bear in mind you'll need ID, since this one's strictly for guests 21 and over, which catches a few UK visitors out given our drinking age is 18.

What Is Beak & Barrel

Beak & Barrel is the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern that opened in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom in August 2025, right by the ride it's inspired by. Unlike GEO-82, this one's family-friendly, with non-alcoholic drinks and food for younger visitors alongside cocktails for adults. Guests get a 45-minute session inside, and there's a two-alcoholic-drink limit per adult, so don't go in expecting a long lock-in.

Beak & Barrel Walk Up Option
The same walk-up list option has appeared on Beak & Barrel's page too

The theming is the real draw here, with rooms full of props pulled from the Pirates of the Caribbean films and a fair few nods to the ride itself. It's the first dedicated bar Magic Kingdom has ever had, which probably explains why it's been so difficult to book since opening.

What This Means For Your Trip

If you're travelling from the UK and trying to plan ahead, the sensible move is to keep both lounges bookmarked in your mind as your trip gets closer. A walk-up list won't guarantee you a seat, and Disney will likely run it on a first-come, first-served basis depending on demand that day, but it does give you a second bite at the cherry if you land at Walt Disney World without an ADR already sorted. It's particularly useful if you're the type who prefers to plan your day loosely once you're in the parks rather than booking everything from your sofa in Surrey months out.

That said, if either lounge is a must-do rather than a nice-to-have, booking an Advance Dining Reservation 60 days out is still your best bet, and the only way to actually guarantee a table. Think of the walk-up list as a backup for those who missed out on an ADR or fancy trying their luck on the day, not as a replacement for booking ahead.

Worth adding that neither lounge is included on the Disney Dining Plan, so budget for these separately if you're working out your holiday spending money. How To Join The Walk-Up List

It works the same as every other Walk-up option that Disney offers.

  1. Make sure location services are switched on and you're actually in the parks, not checking from your hotel room or back home in the UK.
  2. Open My Disney Experience and search for GEO-82 or Beak & Barrel.
  3. Tap "Join Walk-Up List" on the lounge's page.
  4. Carry on with your day and wait for a push notification telling you your table's ready.

Worth adding that a walk-up list isn't the same as turning up and being seated on the spot. You're still queuing, just without needing to have booked 60 days in advance.
