Disney has shared the first menu ideas for Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with ramen bowls topped with eyeball-sliced fishcake among the dishes being developed for the table-service Harryhausen's, and Blort, the Monsters University soft drink, making its real-world debut at the new Archie's Scare Pig Pizza. Both restaurants open in 2027 as part of the land's first phase.

Article Summary

  • Harryhausen's: A table-service restaurant with an Audio-Animatronics sushi chef, with ramen bowls among the dishes Disney is developing.
  • Archie's Scare Pig Pizza: Quick-service pizza in the old PizzeRizzo building, and the first real-world home of Blort.
  • Opening: Both are in the first phase of Monstropolis in 2027, with no date yet, and the door coaster isn't part of that phase.

Monstropolis Food & Restaurants: Quick Navigation

What Is On The Menu At Harryhausen's In Monstropolis?

Harryhausen's is the sushi restaurant Mike takes Celia to in Monsters, Inc., and the real one is moving into the building that housed Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano until it closed in 2025. Imagineers are recreating the head sushi chef from the film as a new Audio-Animatronics figure, using eight tentacles to prepare food in the middle of the dining room. It's a table-service restaurant, and Disney says the menu will go well beyond sushi.

Ramen is the first dish Disney has revealed. The bowls being explored use rich tonkotsu broth and alkaline ramen noodles, then add a few monster touches on top, such as fishcake sliced to look like eyeballs and green eggs. Chef Brian Piasecki, Director of Culinary and Concept Development, summed up the thinking behind the menu.

"We're taking familiar dishes and adding unexpected twists that feel authentic to this world."

Beverage Director Evan Rosenthal described Harryhausen's as the swanky place monsters go for a night out, with the menu designed to work for younger guests as well as adults. So it's a family table-service restaurant with a lot of eyeballs, rather than a grown-ups-only sushi bar.

If you can't wait until 2027, Disney already serves a version of the idea at sea. The Disney Cruise Line ship Disney Adventure, which sails from Singapore, has a premium restaurant called Mike & Sulley's - Flavors of Asia that Disney calls "a taste of Harryhausen's".

What Will Archie's Scare Pig Pizza Serve At Hollywood Studios?

Pizza, unsurprisingly. Archie's Scare Pig Pizza takes over the former PizzeRizzo building as Monstropolis' quick-service restaurant, which means you order at the counter rather than booking a table. It's named after Archie, the six-legged scare pig mascot of Fear Tech in Monsters University, and Disney's culinary team modelled it on the pizza place students pile into after class. Next door, the Monsters University Alumni Club opens its doors to guests eating at Archie's.

The bigger news for Monsters University fans is Blort, the most popular soft drink in Monstropolis, which has never existed outside the film until now. Disney has confirmed it will make its real-world debut at Archie's, and the beverage team's teaser for it is a purple frozen drink topped with Scream Apple Foam.

Both restaurants will sit inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, so you'll need a park ticket covering a Hollywood Studios day to eat at either. When Do The Monstropolis Restaurants Open?

Disney confirmed at D23 in August 2026 that Monstropolis will open in phases from 2027. The first phase includes Harryhausen's and Archie's Scare Pig Pizza, along with the Scareporium shop and a Mike and Sulley show called Welcome to Monstropolis in the Glob Theater, which is the old Muppet*Vision 3D building.

The door coaster, which will be the first suspended coaster in a Disney park, isn't in that first phase, and Disney hasn't given an opening year for it. We covered the rest of the D23 reveal, including the Randy Newman song and the Scareporium, in our Monstropolis restaurants, shops and shows breakdown.
