The My Disney Experience app will soon get a useful new feature: A digital key!
When checked in, a new button option comes up on the app that says "unlock door".
Touching that button when you're at your resort room door will unlock the door and let you in. You can also use this to access pools, laundry areas and more. I don't think this will be any quicker than just touching your Magic Band to the door, but there is potential for this technology.
