Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios has now permanently closed. The attraction opened at Walt Disney World on 29 July 1999, developed by Walt Disney Imagineering in partnership with the band Aerosmith. The ride featured the story of Aerosmith handing backstage passes to guests after a chance encounter at their recording studio. Guests then boarded a stretch limousine - the ride's vehicle - and are launched through the streets of Los Angeles to make it to the show on time. The attraction will now be re-themed to The Muppets and is expected to open later in 2026.

On a personal note, I am quite devastated about the closure of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith today. I love everything about the attraction. The cheesy 90s theme, the cringy pre-show, Steven Tyler’s scream launching you into that first inversion and, of course, the music. Maybe it’s just nostalgia. I know Aerosmith aren’t "relevant" anymore and a lot of kids these days won’t know who they are, so its life at Disney was always going to come to an end. I know attractions can mean different things to different people, but for reasons I can’t even explain, this one is special to me. I love The Muppets and look forward to seeing what’s coming next, but I’ll miss this one dearly.
