Disney has announced that the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge project has contributed over 7000 jobs to the central Florida area. Since the project began in 2016, 7000 new jobs were brought into the region to bring the new land to life.

5500 of those jobs resulted from the construction project, and the other 1700 includes ongoing operational roles. Those operational roles include leadership and management positions, entertainment performers, attraction engineers, food and beverage hosts and cast members needed at the merchandise locations.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens to the public on August 29, 2019.
