TUI Issues Statement Over 2023 Bristol Flight Being Pulled From Sale
News - Travel 19-Oct-2022
Following the discovery that TUI has pulled their 2023 Bristol to Orlando (Melbourne) holiday packages from sale, coupled with TUI travel agents being issued a "stop sale" for this route, and with the Bristol airport website pulling all TUI flights from their 2023 schedule, sparked speculation that TUI was planning to drop the route. In the days that followed, some customers who got in contact with TUI were told the flights were still going ahead, but others were told they were being cancelled and they'll be contacted in the next couple of weeks regarding their options as we outlined in this article.
TUI today has issued a statement to Mickey From The UK saying the following:
We know our customers really value flying from their local airport, which is why we offer incredible holidays from more regional airports than any other airline. Bristol has always been a really popular airport for our customers and we look forward to taking customers on holiday with us throughout 2023 and beyond.
From time to time we review our flying programme, which can impact a small number of flights; in this instance, we will always contact customers directly and will offer the opportunity to change their flight, or offer a full refund.
We are currently making a few small changes to our Bristol flights but I can confirm we will be flying from Bristol in 2023.
While it's not fully clear yet what flights are affected, it seems that - due to some customers being cancelled - that flights are either being reduced or moved around. TUI is standing by its statement that they'll continue to fly from Bristol in 2023 (which is good news), so we'll find out soon what flights are going ahead and which ones are not when they come back on sale and affected customers start getting notified.
