The UK government has announced price increases are coming to passport applications for British citizens. These price increases will come into effect on April 10, 2025, so travellers have a couple of weeks to act if they're in need of renewing or applying for a passport.
  • Adult passport fee to increase from £88.50 to £94.50
  • Child passport fee to increase from £57.50 to £61.50
If you apply using the paper forms, that price will increase to £107 for adults and £74 for children. The cost of the "Premium Service" application will also increase from £207.50 to £222 for adults and £176.50 to £189 for children.

The government has said these price increases are necessary so that the Passport Office is self-funded and no longer relies on funding from general taxation.
