Where Is It and What's the Story?

The attraction is located in Adventure Way, sitting opposite Raiponce Tangled Spin (that's the Rapunzel spinning ride, for those who haven't visited Disney Adventure World yet - the park formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park, now significantly expanded). Construction officially kicked off in November 2025, and Disneyland Paris has been open enough about the project to give us a reasonable sense of what to expect.

The premise is that guests are invited to join the Wilderness Explorers - the scout-like club that Russell from Up belongs to - and earn the "Aviation" badge.

What Kind of Ride Is It?

In theme park terms, this is a flying chair carousel - the kind of ride where you sit in a swinging chair and get lifted and spun outward as it rotates. They've been a fairground staple for over a century, so it's a well-understood format. Disney's version adds a few twists: the attraction will hold 64 guests across 48 chairs, with several "duo" chairs designed for pairs - useful if you'd like to sit with a small child or just someone you're reasonably fond of.

The dome above the ride tilts as it spins, which should intensify the sensation of flight and add some movement to the Adventure Way skyline. At the top of the structure, there's a golden spike representing Carl and Ellie's house.

Theming and Design

The visual design mixes Art Nouveau and industrial styling - wrought-iron arches, balloon and cloud motifs, the kind of considered theming that Disney Adventure World has been leaning into as it distinguishes itself from Disneyland Park next door. It's designed to sit naturally within Adventure Way's aesthetic rather than just being dropped in as a standalone attraction.

The queue is split into four zones, each representing a key moment from the film, with props including Carl's childhood aviator helmet and Ellie's adventure book. Queue theming often gets overlooked when attractions are discussed, but done well it can add a lot - and there's clearly enough source material from Up to fill it properly.

The ride will also sit at the centre of a new Up-themed garden, giving the surrounding area somewhere to breathe and giving guests somewhere to linger rather than just funnel in and out.
