The BBC is reporting news announced from the White House today. The US will finally restart travel and open their borders to UK citizens starting 8th November - for fully vaccinated passengers only. The measures are a little more strict than entering France to go to Disneyland Paris - where fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take a test - but all travellers will need to have a negative test in the 72 hours before travelling to be allowed to enter the US. The White House has said they're not allowing any UK citizens to enter the country unless fully vaccinated.
People who have received a jab from one of the vaccines approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or that have an Emergency Use Listing from the World Health Organization (WHO) will qualify under the system. Accepting WHO approved shots will allow travellers who have received the AstraZeneca jab, widely used in the UK, as well as China's Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines, to enter the country.
In regards to children, there's nothing I can find that points to any firm policy yet, although Reuters is reporting that "Children under 18, for example, are largely expected to be exempt from the requirements, an official said."
