It's not always the headline upgrades that make a real difference to a hotel stay - it's the small stuff. Disney appears to have quietly acknowledged this with a welcome update rolling out across Walt Disney World resort hotels: bar soap at the sink is being replaced by or in addition to new pump dispensers for hand wash and body lotion.
If you've stayed at a Disney resort before, you know how it goes - a bar of soap sitting in a puddle of its own existence by the vanity, doing nobody any favours. It gets messy, it doesn't last, and it's not exactly the premium experience you'd hope for when you're paying Disney hotel prices. The pump dispensers are a small but welcome fix.
What Has Changed?
The vanity area now includes a pump dispenser for hand soap and a separate pump for body lotion - both using the H2O-style scents that Disney resort guests have long associated with their hotel stays. Having it in pump form rather than using a soap bar just makes the process of washing your hands much nicer and also reduces a lot of waste.
For those who prefer bar soap, it's still available in the room as well, but it's unclear how long this will last.

The new pump dispensers have been spotted at Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney's Wilderness Lodge - which covers a pretty wide spread from Value to Deluxe. Given the range of resorts already included, it's reasonable to assume this is a resort-wide rollout rather than a select few properties getting the treatment. Pop Century sits at the budget end of the Disney resort scale, so seeing it there as well as a Deluxe resort like Wilderness Lodge suggests this isn't just a premium-tier perk.
