We stayed a few nights at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and thought we'd take advantage of a Boma breakfast. I've had dinner here before but never breakfast, so we tried it out and overall it was a delightful and tasty meal. Here's our Boma breakfast review.
✅ Excellent selection of breakfast items
✅ All the food we tried was delicious and tasty
👎 The way the cocktail menu is sort of "pushed on" us left a bad taste in the mouth
👠Service was adequate but nothing exciting to jump-start our morning
Boma is an African-style breakfast buffet. A reasonably priced one at that!

If you know Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge you'll know how beautiful this restaurant is. There are a lot of tables, but it doesn't feel squashed at all.

As this is not a character breakfast, you'll rarely see it filled up so it's quite easy to pop down and get a table if you want.

We were taken to our table and handed a cocktail menu. I enjoy a beverage or three but the way Disney are pushing these breakfast cocktails on us leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Even if I wanted a drink first thing in the morning, taking a look down the right-hand side at those prices, I wasn't even going to open it up. In Ohana, they handle it a little better. Our server would put the alcohol menu on the far side of the table and tell us they're there if we want them. Here we were both handed a menu directly into our hands and had no choice but to take it. I don't like to think the cast members are being forced to try and upsell alcoholic drinks in the mornings. I can't imagine someone who doesn't drink or perhaps is a recovering alcoholic would appreciate the way the cocktail menu is handled here.

For drinks, we had all we needed, unlimited POG and coffee! There's a huge selection of food items here, more than I thought there would be.

It almost feels like the buffet line goes on forever. Some of the selections include Bobotie, pap, sausage, potato tots, biscuits & gravy, plain pancakes, pancakes with chocolate chip, Mickey & Simba shaped waffles, scrambled egg, scrambled egg with goat cheese and chive, omelets, bacon, avocado, yogurts, sliced cheese and hams, hard-boiled eggs, devilled eggs, muffins, guava turnovers, apple pockets, french toast bread pudding, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, fruits, bagels, croissants, and other pastries.
They also have carved ham and all sorts of cooking over the hot flames behind the counter.

Everything was delicious here and I have nothing bad to say about the food whatsoever. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the Bobotie had too many peppers and not enough meat in it, and they were a little slow at replenishing the delightful scrambled eggs.

The service overall was okay. Our server did the job required but didn't seem particularly enthusiastic. Overall, this was an absolutely delicious meal at a reasonable price of $35 per adult. If you're not staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, then yeah, this is a little bit of a pain to get to in the mornings. However, it's well worth the trip and I recommend it. It would have received an almost perfect score if the service was a bit better and Disney didn't try and get me drunk at 8 o clock in the morning.
