We visited Morimoto Asia on our last trip and thoroughly enjoyed the whole peking duck, so we made sure we went back to have it again. Aside from the incredibly rude host on reception, this meal surpassed the last visit. Here's our Morimoto Asia review.

✅ Stunning restaurant and atmosphere
✅ Food is incredible
✅ Service is excellent
👎 Incredibly disinterested and rude reception check in staff member

When we checked in to our reservation, the person at the check-in desk was quite rude. I was quite shocked and taken aback by the lack of customer service the second we walked through the door. She grunted and barely said a word. We gave our name and once we were checked we walked to the side and waited to be called. Not even a second went by after we were checked in and she was on her phone. That wasn't that bothersome as what she's doing (on what could have been a work phone) was not my business, but then we were asked by another cast member if we'd stand by the bar. We obliged. Where we were stood was behind the check-in desk, we could see the rude staff member on her phone scrolling through Instagram. She would server someone else, then go right back to scrolling. There must have been something very important going on. We got a bad feeling, but thankfully that's where the negatives end.

After we were seated our server introduced herself and we ordered some drinks. A Sapporo beer and a Lychee Martini. Both were delicious!

We had pork spring rolls and some sort of crab and cheese rolls to start. Both were very full of pork and crab respectively. Usually places skimp on the meat! No complaints about either other than the portions were a little too large, but they're not technically starters, they're "small plates", so something to keep in mind.

Onto the main course, it's time for the whole Peking duck! What's even better, you can now choose to have flour tortillas or bao buns.

Go for bao buns! They were perfectly fluffy and warm. You're given 6 with each whole duck, but our server said if we needed more just ask.

There's nothing to say other than it was absolutely delicious. This Peking duck at Morimoto Asia is out of this world. We enjoyed the whole thing, and as you can imagine, we had no room for dessert.

At $150 it is absolutely on the pricier side, but with two alcoholic drinks and the largely unnecessary two starters, it's still not bad value at all for the quality of food you're getting. Next time we'd forget the small plates and just go wild with the duck. That would bring the bill down to a touch over $100, which is well worth it for this level of food.

Aside from a bad start due to the rude staff (which we did mention to our server at the end of the meal), we had a stunning meal. A lovely atmosphere, a great and friendly server (shout out to Cherry) with fantastic food. We'll be going back and would recommend this happily to others.
