Pop Century is one of our favourite Disney World resorts, and we stay there most visits. Don't get me wrong, having a savannah room at Animal Kingdom Lodge is nothing short of spectacular, but the thrills of some Disney resorts seem wasted (at least for us) as we tend to spend such little time at the resorts themselves.
We visisted Pop Century again in September 2018 and checked out the newly renovated rooms. I have read in several places that people aren't fans of the new rooms, but I disagree with that opinion. Although I concede that the clean modern look can be appear a bit boring, I find the new rooms more practical, hygenic and enjoyable.
I like the new wood floor, which I imagine is much easier to keep clean. I have wood floors at home it doesn't bother me the carpet was removed. Instead of there being two beds taking up all the room, one of the beds folds up into the wall and gives room for a table. I much prefer this design! As a couple, we only use one bed so the extra floor space is a really big plus for us. Gone are the days of having to carry a safe key around, they have the new 4 digit safe locks, which is appreciated. There is now a sliding door to close off the bathroom area, which is much better than the curtain that was there before. The beds themselves are comfier, and I really enjoy the Mickey decor above them. View the slideshow below to see our photos.

For those who like to take home the little bottles of H20 shampoo, you will be dissapointed as Disney now have pump bottles attached the wall. My only real issue with the room is that the fridge is incredibly shallow. You can only fit a few bottles of water in there! We also had a room with a walk-in shower, there was no bath. Although I think you can request a room with a bath (we didn't even think to), it looks like a good portion of the rooms are shower only.
We always pay for preferred rooms at Pop Century, as the less walk back to our room from a long day in the park is always welcome. We stayed in building 1 this visit and was outside the Mickey courtyard area.
We love Pop Century for several reasons. I really enjoy the smells and atmosphere of the resort, and really like the overall theming. Two of the best things about Pop Century though is it's location in Disney World. It's right next to Hollywood Studios and Epcot, and just east of Animal Kingdom and west of Disney Springs. We stayed in Animal Kingdom Lodge a few years ago and even though it is incredible there, every park really felt like a long way away. With Pop, the bus rides never felt that long (other than Magic Kingdom of course). The second best thing about Pop is that is one of the very few resorts that has just one bus stop.
Overall the new rooms make Pop Century even better than it was, and with the Skyliner coming at some point next year, it'll be another plus for the resort. Even though Pop Century is a value resort, it is more expensive than the All-Stars, however you do get more for your money as described in this review.
Our Score 4.5/5
Is it worth the money? More pricier than other values, but worth it.
Would you stay here again? Oh yes!
