What Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (often shortened to MNSSHP by regulars) is a separately ticketed evening event held at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida. It runs on select nights between mid-August and early November, and it's not included in your standard park admission or Disney Magic Tickets - you'll need a ticket specifically for the party.
The event typically runs from 7pm to midnight, though party-goers with a valid MNSSHP ticket can enter Magic Kingdom from 4pm on the day. It's one of the most popular ticketed events Disney runs all year, and for good reason - it's a good night out even if you're not the type to wear a costume.
Here's what's included with your ticket:
- Trick-or-treat trails with free sweets throughout the park
- Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade - runs twice a night
- Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Fireworks show
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show at Cinderella Castle
- Character meet and greets in rare or exclusive costumes
- Ability to purchase themed food and drink
- Shorter queue times as the park is at a lower capacity than a normal day

When Do Tickets Go On Sale?
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets will go on sale 5th May for guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and 12th May for everyone else.
Don't panic if you miss the on-sale date. Many guests worry that tickets will vanish immediately. The reality is that while the very first night and Halloween night itself (31st October) can sell out faster than others, most party nights have availability for weeks or months after they go on sale. Every night does eventually sell out, but not in the first couple of weeks - there's no need to panic.
Which Date Should I Book?
This is one of the most common questions and the honest answer is: it depends on your priorities.
- Cheaper nights tend to be earlier in the season - mid-August and September parties often have lower ticket prices than October.
- Busier nights are typically the weekend dates and anything close to 31st October. If you want shorter queues, a midweek night in September is often a better bet.
- UK school holidays fall in late October, so if you're travelling during half-term, expect the park and party to be busier and prices to reflect that.
- Atmosphere peaks in October - the decorations, the crowds in costume, and the general vibe tends to be better as Halloween gets closer, even if it's a bit busier.
If budget is the main driver, earlier and midweek will save you money. If atmosphere matters more, late October is worth the premium - just book ahead.
How To Book From The UK
Booking some Walt Disney World experiences from the UK is more complicated than it should be. Disney restricts certain bookings for UK residents on their US website - likely due to GDPR, though Disney have never been particularly forthcoming about the exact reason. The simplest options are laid out below.
Option #1 - Buy Tickets From A UK Vendor
This is the recommended option for most UK visitors. UK ticket vendors like FloridaTix and Attraction Tickets sell Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets, so you can book in pounds, with familiar payment options, and proper UK consumer protections behind you.
FloridaTix is the priority pick here - they stock party tickets across multiple dates and will have discount codes available when the season gets going. Check availability and book through FloridaTix here.
Depending on the exchange rate on the day, buying through a UK vendor can sometimes work out cheaper than buying directly through Disney - so it's always worth checking both before you commit.
Option #2 - Use a VPN
If you want to buy directly from Disney's US website, you'll need a VPN to do it. A VPN lets your browser appear to be in the US, which gets around the regional restriction Disney has in place. We've written a full guide on how to use a VPN to make Walt Disney World bookings if you want the step-by-step. It works, but it's a bit more involved - if you're not comfortable with the technical side, Option #1 is easier.
Option #3 - Call Disney Direct
You can call Disney's UK line on 0800 08 50 582 to book your party tickets over the phone. It's not the fastest option but it's perfectly valid and means you're booking direct with Disney without needing a VPN. Although tickets may still be cheaper through Option #1.
Is There a Mickey's Not-So-Scary Discount Code?
No need for a discount code - tickets already discounted when booking through FloridaTix. That discount can make a meaningful difference, particularly if you're booking for a family.
As mentioned above, depending on the exchange rate, it can sometimes be cheaper to book through a UK vendor even before the discount code is applied - so it's worth doing the maths on both options before you buy.

Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth It For UK Visitors?
This is a fair question given the price. You've likely already spent a significant amount getting to Florida from the UK, and adding £100+ per person on top of park tickets isn't nothing.
The honest answer is that it often depends on what kind of Disney visitor you are:
- If you're a first-timer - it's worth considering, but it's not essential. Your days in the parks will give you plenty. That said, if your trip overlaps with the party season, one night can be a highlight of the trip.
- If you've done the parks before - the party format gives you something different. Lower crowds, exclusive entertainment, and the novelty of trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom at midnight tends to land well.
- If you're travelling with children - kids in costume, free sweets, and character meets in Halloween outfits tends to go down extremely well. It's one of those evenings that gets talked about long after you get home.
- If you're a solo or adult-only trip - still worth it, arguably more so. The park atmosphere on a party night has its own energy and the fireworks show is one of Disney's better ones.
The cheaper dates in August and September offer better value if budget is the deciding factor. Have a look at the Walt Disney World deals guide for UK guests for more ways to keep costs down across your whole trip.
