How To Compliment Or Thank A Cast Member #CastCompliment
Guide 19-Oct-2019
Disney Cast members at Disney Parks are generally not allowed to accept cash tips (excluding restaurant and bar servers), but sometimes they go out of their way to make your day extra magical and you want to properly thank them for it. It's all too easy to find someone to complain to when something goes wrong, but we (as a society) rarely go out of way to compliment when something goes right. Cast members are notoriously underpaid for the work they do and the joy they bring to guests, especially when you notice some of the things they have to deal with. They really can be the heart and soul of the Disney Parks.
If you've had an amazing experience, make sure you let someone know. There are some ways that require next to no effort at all.
Tweet Disney
It's super quick and easy to pull out your phone and sent a tweet. Disney say they read and log all tweets with the hashtag #CastCompliment, and all compliments are forwarded to the general managers for each department for cast member recognition.
Tweet @WDWGuestService with the hashtag #CastCompliment with the name of the cast member, when and where they were working, and what they did for you.
Go To Guest Relations
There are guest relation locations at the entrance to the parks. These are usually where you go to ask questions or complain, however, you can also go here to compliment. They're usually rather quiet (as long as you don't go when the park opens or closes), and they also have cast members outside ready to quickly assist you. Just let them know the cast members name, when and where they were working, and what they did for you.
Guest Experience Team
Recently Disney has been adding Guest Experience Team locations around the parks. You'll see them stood next to tables with a big blue umbrella. These guys are similar to the guest relations staff and you can leave compliments here just as you can at guest relations.
