Disclaimer: This was our 2025 April Fools article. You can enjoy our previous years April fools articles below. Last year, Disney introduced Lightning Lane Single and Multi Pass to replace Genie+, which replaced FastPass. And then at the end of 2024, Disney introduced Lightning Lane Premier Pass where guests can pay up to $449 (plus tax) to skip the line at each attraction at your chosen park as a separate option to Lightning Lane Single and Multi Pass.
Guest feedback to the higher-priced Lightning Lane Premier Pass has been quite negative because guests have said they feel disgusted still having to be near, and even be queued behind the standard Lightning Lane Single and Multi Pass guests. To remedy this, a Walt Disney World representative has shared a first-look at a new Lightning Lane POWER PASS service.
"We used bold lettering in the logo to emphasise how powerful this service is," the Walt Disney World representative said - whose annual bonus depends on the success of this new service. "We've come a long way from the free Fastpass service included with guests' tickets, and long may we follow on this path," they continued.
How Lightning Lane Power Pass Works
How the service will work is quite simple. After purchasing the Lightning Lane POWER PASS for the day through the My Disney Experience app, instead of entering through the attraction's Lightning Lane, guests are escorted through the attraction exit. At the exit of each attraction, there will be a cast member ready to greet Power Pass guests throughout the day. You and your party are then taken straight to the ride vehicle.
"This is the part where the POWER comes into the Power Pass," the Walt Disney World representative cheered.
When you arrive at the ride vehicle, you choose which seat you want. If a standard guest, or even a guest that has used one of the inferior Lightning Lane products is sat there already, they will be removed from that seat immediately.
"This will result in having to endure no wait whatsoever, improving the guest experience," the Walt Disney World representative said. "Any guest forced to eject from an attraction by a Power Pass guest will be given a complimentary 'I got booted by the Power Pass' magnet - perfect for their fridge collection," they continued. At this time you will also be given the opportunity to heckle or insult the guest being forced to move from their seat.
Lightning Lane Power Pass Extras
If you enter an attraction between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., the cast member greeting you will offer you a variety of hors d'oeuvres to help keep you energised for the rest of the afternoon. Photopass photos on all attractions are included, and using the power of AI, all other guests in your photos will be replaced with your favourite Disney characters.
"Our Cast Members just love carrying around plates of hors d'oeuvres in the middle of a 100-degree day to serve guests. Team morale will be at an all-time high," the Walt Disney World representative explained.
Lightning Lane Power Pass Price
"We don't talk about prices, no, no, no, we don't talk about prices," the Walt Disney World representative melodically said to us. "However, if you want to trade in your car towards your Power Pass, that is something we're looking into," they continued.
Lightning Lane Power Pass will be available later this summer, and be sure to stick around and subscribe to Mickey From The UK as we won't be trying this new service.
