A little while ago, Disney was testing putting digital face coverings on guests who take off their coverings for ride photos. The reason for this was because guests who took off their face covering while riding on attractions would not receive PhotoPass photos taken on the rides. The issue with this is other guests who were part of the photo would not be able to receive it either.
However, USA Today is reporting Disney is no longer going ahead with this.
"In response to guest requests, we tested modifying some ride photos. We are no longer doing this and continue to expect guests to wear face coverings except when actively eating or drinking while stationary," Disney said in a statement provided by spokesperson Jacquee Wahler.
