What Is Changing With Disney+ UK Prices?
There's been no press release and no announcement. Disney has put the news in the small print underneath a large "LAST CHANCE" banner on the Disney+ UK homepage. The banner advertises six months of Standard With Ads for £4.99 a month, ending on 13th October 2026. The fine print explains why it's the last chance.
"The price of the Standard With Ads 6-month saver will increase to £5.99/mo from 14/10/26. Savings compares the current price of £4.99/mo against the new Standard With Ads 6-month saver price of £5.99/mo. Based on a 6-month minimum term, subscription then auto-renews at £6.99 a month."

That gives us two confirmed changes. The 6-month saver goes up by £1 to £5.99 a month from Wednesday 14th October 2026, which is a 20% rise. Customers who take the current £4.99 saver then move onto £6.99 a month after six months, £1 more than the £5.99 Disney+ charges for Standard With Ads on a rolling monthly basis on 25th September 2026.
When Will Disney+ Standard With Ads Cost £6.99?
The fine print confirms £6.99 but doesn't give a date for the regular monthly price. The only date Disney mentions is 14th October 2026, and that applies to the saver.
The terms do give us a deadline if you read between the lines. Someone signing up to the saver on 25th September 2026 finishes their six-month minimum term on 25th March 2027, and Disney says they then pay £6.99 a month. So £6.99 will be in place for these saver customers by late March 2027 at the latest, and the regular monthly price could change at any point after 14th October.
The plan comparison table further down the same page still lists £5.99 as the rolling price for Standard With Ads. That was the rolling price on 25th September 2026, so both figures are correct.

The UK change follows Disney's US price increase, which took effect for new American subscribers on 23rd September 2026. Premium, the ad-free plan, went from $18.99 to $21.49 a month. The ad-supported plan went up by 50 cents, from $11.99 to $12.49.

Keep in mind that the US prices are already live for new subscribers, while Disney hasn't said when the UK £6.99 monthly price starts. On the numbers alone, the Americans took the bigger hit on Premium and UK viewers face the bigger percentage rise on the cheapest plan. Disney hadn't announced any change to UK Premium as of 25th September 2026.
How To Lock In Disney+ For £4.99 A Month
If you're new to Disney+ or an eligible returning subscriber, you can still get six months at £4.99 a month until the end of 13th October 2026.
- Go to the Disney+ UK website and scroll to the "Choose your plan" section.
- Select Standard With Ads, which is listed from £4.99 a month for six months.
- Finish signing up on or before Tuesday 13th October 2026, as the same saver costs £5.99 a month from 14th October.
- Set a calendar reminder for the end of month six, when the plan renews at £6.99 a month unless you cancel.
Keep in mind that the six months is a minimum term. You can cancel at any time, but the cancellation only takes effect once the six months are up.
Do Existing Disney+ Subscribers Pay More?
Nothing in the fine print changes existing bills on 14th October. It covers new and eligible returning subscribers signing up to the saver, and it says nothing about people already paying month by month. Disney+ would have to email you before a price change reaches your bill. If you haven't had an email from Disney+, your price hasn't gone up.
Should You Sign Up To Disney+ Before 13th October?
It depends on how long you plan to watch.
- Sign up to the saver by 13th October 2026 and your first six months cost £29.94 in total.
- Sign up to the same saver from 14th October 2026 and those six months cost £35.94, which is £6 more.
- If you only want a month or two for a specific film or series, the rolling monthly plan costs £11.98 for two months while it stays at £5.99, or £13.98 once it moves to £6.99, both less than any six-month saver.
