What Was Mickey Mail?
Disney Holidays sent us a preview of Mickey Mail back in 2021, ahead of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary celebrations. It was designed to add a bit of ceremony to the moment you tell friends and family you're off to Florida, at a point when a lot of us needed something to look forward to after the pandemic lockdowns.
"Create a magical letter, from Mickey Mouse himself, for someone special. Simply drop their name and the date of your trip into the specified fields, and preview your personalised letter before you download, print it off and share."

The tool itself was simple enough. You'd enter the names of whoever you were surprising, add your trip dates, and Mickey Mail would build a preview letter you could check over before downloading. It sat alongside a second feature called Social Shareables, a set of customisable graphics for posting your booking news on social media. Here's what the original letter looked like.
It went down well with UK guests too. Plenty of people were still using Mickey Mail to reveal their Disney World trips well into 2026, long after the 50th celebrations it was originally built for had wrapped up.
Why Has Disney Replaced Mickey Mail?
Disney hasn't put out a statement on this one, but Mickey Mail was built and branded specifically for the 50th anniversary celebrations, which ran from October 2021 through to March 2023. Keeping a tool dressed up for an anniversary that finished years ago was always going to look a bit odd, even though guests were still using it. Retiring it in favour of something more generic makes sense from a housekeeping point of view, even if it does mean losing a feature that clearly had fans.
What Is The Personalised Letter From Mickey Mouse?
In place of Mickey Mail, Disney Holidays now offers a document called the Personalised Letter from Mickey Mouse. It's described as:
"You've booked your trip… now it's time to share the news! Surprise your loved ones with a personalised trip reveal letter from Mickey Mouse himself, sent straight from the heart of the magic."

The key difference is that there's no online generator anymore. You get one downloadable PDF template, and it's up to you how you fill it in.
How To Create Your Personalised Letter From Mickey Mouse

- Write your loved ones' names on the dotted line.
- Share and watch the excitement unfold.
Most PDF software these days will let you type directly onto the template rather than filling it in by hand, but it's an extra step and one that might need a little more technical confidence than the old point-and-click Mickey Mail form did. If typing isn't your thing, printing it off and writing the names in yourself works just as well.
A few things worth planning for with the new version:
