The Olaf animatronic at World of Frozen gained a lot of attention, and he's worth every bit of it. Olaf walks freely - tiny steps, wiggly arms and all - and features the recorded voice of Josh Gad, who voices the character in the films. He appears as part of the Celebration in Arendelle boat show on Adventure Bay, a roughly 15-minute daily show also featuring Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff. Disney Imagineering used deep reinforcement learning to get him to balance on a moving boat, which is an impressive bit of engineering for a character with snow for feet.

During the World Of Frozen preview event, we got to see the Olaf animatronic up close, and he is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. However, we were told to let our readers know that Olaf made special appearances throughout the preview event and that his availability is not guaranteed following the public opening of World of Frozen. Here's a quick video with him in action.

His movements are so life-like. The way he moves is so impressive - I could sit and watch him all day. Watch him move from about half way through the video below.

Realistically, don't bank on seeing Olaf roaming freely around World of Frozen. When we saw him during the previews, he was in a small cordoned-off area to the left of Frozen Ever After - and even then, the crowds were something else. Bear in mind that was mostly press and content creators trying to get footage; imagine that same energy with a land full of families on a busy August day. He's a small snowman at floor level, so only the first couple of rows of any crowd are actually going to see him properly, yet he'll attract far more people than can physically get a view - which is a crowd management headache waiting to happen.

Your best bet for seeing him is the Celebration in Arendelle boat show on Adventure Bay, which runs multiple times daily and lasts around 15 minutes. It won't be up close, but you'll get a proper view of him in action on the water alongside Kristoff, Anna, and Elsa. One thing to be aware of though: Disneyland Paris has confirmed that if the weather isn't playing ball, the animatronic will be swapped out for a puppet. After all, it is France.
