World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris - Everything You Need to Know

If you've been to Disneyland Paris in the last few years, chances are you've spotted Elsa's castle in the distance with construction walls getting in your way. The good news is, the wait is now over. World of Frozen opened on 29th March 2026 at Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), Disneyland Paris - and it's shaping up to be one of the most talked-about additions to any Disney park.

As someone who has been visiting Disneyland Paris for over 20 years, I've watched Walt Disney Studios Park go through some pretty significant changes. For a long time it was very much the park you'd visit briefly - if only to pop in to ride Tower of Terror - before heading back to the main park. With the addition of Avengers Campus in 2022 and now Adventure Way and World of Frozen, that has changed. World of Frozen is a proper, fully realised land.

Where Is World of Frozen?

World of Frozen sits within Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), which is the second gate at Disneyland Paris - the one you access separately from Disneyland Park. It's located in what was previously an underused corner of the park. You approach through the long walk up Adventure Way, and within a few steps you're surrounded by the architecture, sounds, and atmosphere of Arendelle. It delivers on one of those moments in theme park design where the transition really works.

Getting To World Of Frozen From The UK

For UK visitors flying into Charles de Gaulle (CDG), getting to Disneyland Paris is straightforward - the RER B and then RER A will get you there from the airport, or you can take a taxi or prebooked transfer. This includes the Magical Shuttle (you can see if that's best for you in our Magical Shuttle review). If you're coming from London on the Eurostar, you'll arrive directly at Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station, which is essentially attached to the parks. It's one of the easiest Disney destinations to get to from the UK, which is part of why it remains so popular with British guests.

World of Frozen Paris Map

World of Frozen occupies a dedicated section of Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), and it's laid out like a proper self-contained village. Once you see the fjord-inspired architecture, that makes it pretty clear where you're heading - it opens up into a central area with a beautiful fountain and Arendelle's buildings arranged around you.

The map for Disney Adventure World includes World Of Frozen, as you can see below.

The Disneyland Paris app now shows a more clear look at World Of Frozen, as displayed below.

Frozen Ever After, the main boat ride, sits towards the back-right of the land and the Anna & Elsa meet-and-greet does too. This means that the main attraction and meet-and-greet are off in the corner, which allows the rest of the land to breathe a little more. Both are signposted clearly enough that you won't spend ten minutes wandering past the same gift shop trying to find them - though you will almost certainly end up in the gift shop regardless.

The Disneyland Paris app has an interactive map of the entire resort which is worth downloading before you travel - it shows live wait times, character locations, and lets you get your bearings before you've even set foot in the park.

The Theming - Does It Deliver?

Let's be honest - Frozen remains one of Disney's most popular IPs. And while you might have heard "Let It Go" more times in your life than you thought possible, a whole land dedicated to the Frozen franchise could be done incredibly well or it could simply exacerbate the overplayed nature of the films. The good news is that the Imagineers have done a brilliant job here. The land is based on Arendelle and the architecture draws heavily on Norwegian influences, timber-framed buildings, and that distinctive Scandinavian colour palette of deep blues, warm ambers, and greens. Even on an overcast Paris day (and there are plenty of those), it looks stunning.

The attention to detail throughout the land is impressive. The food options feel considered rather than slapped together, and the ambient soundtrack - which weaves in themes from both films without battering you over the head with the same three songs on repeat - is, thankfully, very well-handled.

The General Atmosphere

I'll be honest - World of Frozen got to me a little. There was a moment on that first walk up where everything seemed to land at once: the music fading in, the mountain and castle coming into focus, and a very unexpected "this is just lovely" washing over me. If you love Frozen, or simply love watching Disney bring its films to life in this way, don't be surprised if you feel it too.

World Of Frozen Atmosphere
World Of Frozen Atmosphere

Beyond the rides and the characters, the atmosphere of World of Frozen is worth mentioning on its own. It's the kind of land where you don't feel the need to rush towards the next thing - somewhere you're happy to just wander around and soak in. Think Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom, or Cars Land at Disney California Adventure - lands where the world-building is doing as much heavy lifting as the attractions themselves. The theming is cohesive enough that it feels like a place rather than a film set, and there's enough to look at, listen to, and take in that simply being there feels like part of the experience.

Atmosphere At Night

If you think World of Frozen looks beautiful during the day, just wait until the sun goes down. The evening lighting transforms the land entirely - the mountain, Elsa's castle, and the buildings throughout Arendelle are all lit in a way that makes the whole place feel even more magical than it already does. It's worth timing at least one visit to the land after dark, even if just for a wander.

The fountain at the centre of the land also comes into its own after dark. Water features have always had a way of making theme parks feel more alive, and this one is no exception - the combination of the water, the lighting, and the surrounding Arendelle architecture makes for a lovely spot to stop for a few minutes. If you're visiting with children who have been on their feet all day, it's also a surprisingly effective place to take a breather.

World Of Frozen Ride - Frozen Ever After

The headline attraction is Frozen Ever After - a family-friendly boat ride that takes guests from the snowy forest through the Valley of the Trolls, up to Elsa's Ice Palace, and out into a finale over Arendelle Bay. If you've visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, you may have ridden the version at EPCOT's Norway Pavilion - the Paris version shares its DNA but has been expanded and updated, making it the better of the two.

Frozen Ever After Disneyland Paris Let It Go Elsa Scene
The "Let It Go" Frozen Ever After Scene

The ride itself is a gentle, family-friendly boat ride - think Pirates Of The Caribbean in terms of intensity, but with considerably more impressive Audio-Animatronics and set pieces. You'll journey through Elsa's ice palace, the enchanted forest, and several key moments from the film. The projection work is excellent, the practical sets hold up, and the Elsa figure in particular is one of the better character figures you'll find in any Disney park. Olaf, predictably, is adorable throughout.

It's not a thrill ride by any measure, but it's a solid, well-crafted dark ride that families will happily ride multiple times. Queue times can and will be brutal during peak season - I'd recommend either booking a Premier Access slot for it or head there first thing in the morning when the park opens. The stand-by queue does have some nice theming to keep you occupied, at least.

We go into much more detail in our Frozen Ever After Disneyland Paris review if you want the full breakdown.

Nordic Crown Tavern

The theming of World of Frozen extends to the food as well, with Nordic Crown Tavern being the land's main dining option. The restaurant itself is beautiful - the theming continues throughout the interior, so you're not just eating in a generic canteen with a few snowflakes stuck to the wall. It's a quick-service restaurant offering a main course, dessert, and drink for between €22-€24 for adults, a salad and drink for €15, and a kids' set menu for €14. Main course options include salmon, turkey meatballs, and plant-based meatballs.

Character Meet-and-Greets

Anna and Elsa are obviously the big draws here, and World of Frozen gives them a dedicated meet-and-greet space that feels properly integrated into the land. You actually enter Elsa's castle to meet them, which is a lovely touch. Queue times can get long - so if meeting Anna and Elsa is a priority for your little ones, factor that into your planning and head there early.

When there's a duo meet-and-greet like this, it's fairly common for one character to lead in English and the other in French. In this case, Anna did most of the talking - very much in charge, as you'd expect - while Elsa was a little more reserved but still spoke to us. Very on-brand for both of them, to be fair.

During the World of Frozen preview days there were also roaming characters, including Oaken and Mossie the baby troll. Much like Grogu, he is absolutely adorable. Mossie is likely to continue roaming the land when World of Frozen opens to the public, but as with all roaming characters, appearances aren't guaranteed and are of course weather dependent.

You may have already seen the viral Olaf animatronic doing the rounds on social media. You can see him in action in our quick video Reel - and yes, he is every bit as adorable as you'd expect. It's an impressive feat of Imagineering to bring him to life like that. Worth noting though - it was made clear to us during the previews that Olaf will be making special appearances and his availability is not guaranteed following the public opening of World of Frozen.

A Celebration in Arendelle

A Celebration in Arendelle is a live show that takes place on the fjord in front of Arendelle Castle - one of the better spots in the land to stop and take everything in anyway. The show brings together Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff for what is essentially a celebration of Arendellian traditions. Check the Disneyland Paris app on the day for show times, and get there a few minutes early if you want a decent spot.

World of Frozen Shops

There are two retail shops inside World of Frozen. The larger of the two - Arendelle Boutique - is located at the exit of Frozen Ever After, though there is a separate outside entrance if you want to browse without riding the attraction first. Arendelle Boutique stocks a range of Frozen-themed items including toys, clothing, and collectibles. Stock does change from time to time, but you can see everything they had during the previews in our Arendelle Boutique photo album.

Opposite Arendelle Boutique is a smaller shop called Fjord View, which is worth a look if you have children - or, let's be honest, if you're an adult who can't resist a good Olaf plush. Alongside the usual soft toys, Fjord View also offers a build-your-own mini-figurine jar, where you take an empty container and fill it with your choice of mini-figures for €35. It's essentially a pick-and-mix.

World of Frozen Paris Tickets

World of Frozen sits inside Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park), so to visit you'll need a ticket that covers that park specifically. If you're booking from the UK, this is where it's worth paying attention - Disneyland Paris sells single-park tickets for either park separately, as well as multi-day tickets that cover both. Given that most UK visitors are there for at least two days, a two-park ticket tends to make the most sense financially and gives you the flexibility to move between both parks as you please. You can view our World Of Frozen Ticket Guide for more details.

Tickets can be booked directly through the Disneyland Paris website, which will usually be your cheapest option, or through a UK package operator like Disney Holidays if you're bundling flights and a hotel.

On top of your park ticket, Disneyland Paris operates a Premier Access system for the headline attractions - including Frozen Ever After. This is a paid skip-the-line option, and during busy periods it's well worth considering for World of Frozen given how quickly the queues build. You can purchase Premier Access through the Disneyland Paris app on the day. Standard stand-by queues are of course still available if you'd rather save the money and time your visit strategically - early morning remains your best bet for shorter waits without spending extra.

Is World of Frozen Worth the Visit?

The short answer is yes - more so than I expected, if I'm being honest. It's made Disney Adventure World a much more compelling proposition for a full day's visit, and for the first time in a long time, I left that park feeling like it had actually delivered a worthwhile experience. If you've been putting off a return trip to Disneyland Paris because you felt like you'd seen everything it had to offer, World of Frozen is a very good reason to go back.

For UK families in particular, Disneyland Paris remains one of the most accessible Disney parks in the world - a two-and-a-half hour Eurostar journey from London St Pancras is hard to argue with when the alternative involves long-haul flights and the kind of holiday budget that requires a spreadsheet. World of Frozen adds real weight to that side of the resort, and that can only be a good thing for those of us who've been quietly making the case for Disneyland Paris for years.
