Disney recently increased the prices of annual passes and parking, but along with those price increases they implemented the new date-based ticket system. This means you have to choose the dates you want to use the tickets, rather than buying an open ticket and using it whenever you want. This allows Disney to see ahead of time what days people will be using tickets, and of course adjust prices accordingly. The majority of us Brits take advantage of the awesome open and unlimited Ultimate Ticket, so these changes don't affect many of us.
This ticket change (which took place on 16th October) created a possible opening window for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios. This is because after playing with the dates and prices, it seems you can only purchase tickets up to 16th December 2019. Disney announced a couple of months ago that the new land will open "late fall", and while autumn technically ends on 21st December, that means Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge could open between 17th and 21st December. Disney have yet to confirm a date, and we'll be sure to share when that news is announced.
