Walt Disney World To Begin Reopening July 11th

Jim McPhee, Senior Vice President of Operations at Walt Disney World, is presenting the reopening plans for Walt Disney World theme parks to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.

The plans include reopening the theme parks starting on July 11th, starting with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15th.

Disney Springs has already reopened with several social distancing measures and limited capacity policies in place, most of which is being incorporated into the parks.

Some of the policies that will be in place when the parks reopen:

Face coverings will be required for all cast members and guests

Temperature checks required upon entry

Pre-arrival reservations will need to be made to gain entry in the parks to begin with

No fireworks or parades will take place, or any shows that create crowds

Enhanced cleaning throughout the day

Contactless payments encouraged at all locations

Plexiglass barriers will be in place at locations where social distancing is not possible

Markings and signs to help guests keep social distanced (including attraction queues)

Creating a "social distancing squad" cast member team who will make social distancing "fun"
