Fans, and sometimes even Disney itself, have come up with plenty of abbreviations and acronyms for Walt Disney World. Everything has a name, some of them quite a mouthful, so across Walt Disney World there's a fair pile of shorthand for parks, ride queues, ticket types and booking terms. Some of the more obvious ones, like "GF" for Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and AKL for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, aren't included here since they're rarely spoken out loud, but the ones you're likely to actually hear or read are below.

Theme Park Abbreviations

These are the ones you'll see most, since they cover the four theme parks and the Disney Springs shopping and dining district nearby.

  • WDW - Walt Disney World
  • MK - Magic Kingdom
  • EPCOT - Not usually shortened further, but EPCOT is short for Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow
  • HS/DHS - Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • AK - Disney's Animal Kingdom
  • DS/Springs - Disney Springs

Lightning Lane & Queue Abbreviations

  • LL - Lightning Lane, the shorter name for the queue itself as well as the service in general
  • LLMP - Lightning Lane Multi Pass, formerly called Genie+
  • LLSP - Lightning Lane Single Pass, paid access to one specific ride at a set time
  • LLPP - Lightning Lane Premier Pass, one-time access to most Lightning Lanes in a park for one day, sitting above Multi Pass and Single Pass
  • RD - Rope Drop, arriving for park opening to get ahead of the crowds
  • VQ - Virtual Queue. Disney tends to bring these back for major new attraction launches
  • FP/FP+ - Fastpass+, the free system Genie+ replaced back in 2021. No longer available

  • QS/CS - Quick-Service Meal
  • TS - Table-Service Meal
  • DDP - Disney Dining Plan
  • F&G - EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
  • F&W - EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
  • FOTA - EPCOT Festival Of The Arts
  • FOTH - EPCOT Festival of the Holidays

  • AP - Annual Pass
  • DVC - Disney Vacation Club
  • MDE - My Disney Experience, the official app
  • MB/MB+ - MagicBand / MagicBand+
  • MM - Memory Maker, Disney's photo package
  • MYW - Magic Your Way tickets (the underlying US ticket structure, not a term you'll see much in UK package pricing)
  • PH - Park Hopper
  • DAS - Disability Access Service, an accommodation for guests who can't wait in a standard queue. It's separate from Lightning Lane and has its own registration process, which Disney explains on its official DAS page
  • GR/GS - Guest Relations / Guest Services (some locations are now branded Guest Experience Team, but the older names are still used interchangeably)
  • CM - Cast Member
  • AH - After Hours Events
  • DCL - Disney Cruise Line
