Disney Cruise Line has announced a version of their MagicBands to use onboard Disney Cruises, called DisneyBand+. The bands will be available starting this summer on the Disney Wish, with the technology being rolled out to other cruises later in the year. Three exclusive designs will be available at launch. Just like MagicBands, guests will be able to use DisneyBand+ to unlock their stateroom, link photos, as well as make purchases.

It's worth noting that you cannot use your old style MagicBand as a DisneyBand+ band on Disney Cruises, but if you have purchased the new style rechargeable MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World, you can use those as DisneyBand+ onboard Disney Cruises. You will also be able to use your DisneyBand+ at Walt Disney World as Magicbands. Key cards will still be issued regardless of DisneyBand+ purchase.
