Disneyland's One Billionth Guest: Quick Navigation

Who Is Disneyland's One Billionth Guest?

Andres Robles arrived at Disneyland with his parents on July 3rd 2026, Alejandra and Jose, expecting a fairly normal day out to mark his eighth birthday. Instead, the family found themselves pulled into a piece of Disney history as the honorary one billionth guest to visit Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure combined. Disney confirmed the milestone in a post on the Disney Parks Blog, published just days before Disneyland's 71st anniversary.

How Was The Milestone Celebrated?

The family were invited to a short ceremony on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station platform, where Andres helped unveil an updated population sign now reading 1,000,000,000. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse joined the celebrations, and Jill Estorino, President of Disneyland Resort, was on hand to greet the family personally.

Donald Duck and Daisy Duck also turned up for a photo opportunity afterwards, and the family were given a VIP tour for the rest of the day. That included a look inside Walt Disney's private apartment above the fire station on Main Street, plus a ride on the newly opened Soarin' Across America attraction.

Seven Decades Of Disneyland History

Disneyland opened in July 1955 and is widely credited with launching the modern theme park industry. What started as a single park has grown into a resort with two theme parks, three hotels and the Downtown Disney District, and its influence stretches well beyond Anaheim - it's the direct inspiration behind Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and every other Disney park that followed.

"We believed in our idea - a family park where parents and children could have fun together."

- Walt Disney

One billion guests over 70 years works out at an average of roughly 14 million visits a year, which lines up reasonably well with the sort of annual attendance figures Disneyland has reported in the past.
