The CDC announced earlier this month that their COVID-19 program for cruise ships starting July 18th, 2022, will be scrapped. This means that the CDC no longer forces cruise lines to manage their COVID-19 protocols. The CDC will continue to publish guidance for cruise ships, but rules and restrictions will be up to the cruise line companies themselves.

Following this news, two Florida-based cruise lines have ditched testing altogether. Virgin Voyages and Margaritaville at Sea. Margaritaville at Sea has removed all testing requirements for fully vaccinated guests starting July 23rd, 2022. If you're unvaccinated, then a test will still be required.

Will Disney be next to relax their testing requirement?

At the moment, all guests aged 5+ must be fully vaccinated (with at least two jabs) and a pre-boarding test (arranged and paid for by the guest) is required for all Disney Cruise Line sailings.
