We were invited to the media preview of World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World (previously Walt Disney Studios Park), Disneyland Paris, giving us the chance to experience Frozen Ever After before it opened to the public on 29th March 2026. We've since been back to ride it again as paying customers, so this review reflects both visits. Disneyland Paris covered our original event access, but travel and accommodation were paid for by us both times, so what you're getting here is an honest, independent Frozen Ever After review.

Read on for the full breakdown including what to expect from the drop and queue, whether you'll get wet, and our full verdict after riding it five times.
We rode Frozen Ever After five times during the previews and twice when we returned after public opening, so whether you're wondering what to expect, if it's the same as the EPCOT version, or simply whether it's worth the trip from the UK, you're in the right place. Here is our honest Frozen Ever After review at Disneyland Paris.
What Is Frozen Ever After At Disneyland Paris?
Frozen Ever After is a family-friendly boat ride, meaning no minimum height requirement, located inside the brand new World of Frozen, which is part of the newly renamed Disney Adventure World, the park formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park. We have a World of Frozen guide that goes into all the details as well. The attraction takes guests from the snowy forest through the Valley of the Trolls, up to Elsa's Ice Palace, ending with a finale over Arendelle Bay.
You board at the royal docks and drift through the streets of Arendelle, winding through forest and village scenes before heading into Troll Valley. From there, the boats climb up the North Mountain into Elsa's Ice Palace, the visual centrepiece of the ride, where the "Let It Go" sequence unfolds around you. The finale brings you back down to Arendelle for an upbeat summer celebration with Elsa, Anna and Olaf rounding things off nicely.
Frozen Ever After: Our Thoughts
Frozen Ever After is a fantastic family-friendly attraction and a much needed E-ticket for the offering at Disney Adventure World. The scenes are bright and cheerful, the drop is manageable, and the characters are front and centre throughout. The moment the "Let It Go" scene kicks in, you can't help but sing along even though you've heard the song hundreds of times. That said, it's not exclusively a ride for the under-tens. Adults who loved Frozen will get plenty out of it, and adults who didn't love Frozen will at least appreciate the quality of what Disney has built here.
For UK visitors weighing up whether to add a Disney Adventure World day to their Disneyland Paris trip, Frozen Ever After makes that decision considerably easier. Even with the addition of Avengers Campus in 2022, this is the kind of headline attraction the second park has been crying out for, something that justifies the extra park ticket.
Do I wish Disney had created a completely new attraction for World of Frozen rather than a new version of what already exists at EPCOT? Perhaps, but I say that as someone who rides Frozen Ever After at Walt Disney World regularly. The reality is that many UK and European visitors will never set foot in EPCOT, whether that's down to cost, distance, or simply never having made the trip across the Atlantic. For those guests, this isn't a retread, it's a first experience of one of Disney's most consistently popular dark rides.
Is Frozen Ever After The Same As EPCOT?
Frozen Ever After at Disneyland Paris is mostly the same as the EPCOT version, using the same story and a similar layout. For context, the EPCOT version used to be an attraction called Maelstrom, which had been in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT since 1988. It closed on 5th October 2014, and Frozen Ever After opened in its place on 21st June 2016, using the same ride vehicles and largely the same track layout.
Frozen Ever After already exists at EPCOT in Walt Disney World and Hong Kong Disneyland, so if you've done the Florida version you'll be walking in with expectations. The good news is that the Disneyland Paris version is a clear step up rather than a straight copy. The animatronics are newer, the ride is noticeably smoother, and visually everything feels bolder and more vibrant throughout, so returning EPCOT riders shouldn't feel short-changed.
The layout differs slightly from EPCOT too, with some scenes appearing on the opposite side of the boat, though whether that's a deliberate creative choice or purely operational, only Disney's Imagineers know. A handful of lines have been switched to French, but it's only a few sentences dotted across the whole ride, nothing that'll leave English speakers feeling lost.
| Feature | EPCOT (Walt Disney World) | Disneyland Paris |
|---|---|---|
| Animatronics | Recently upgraded to newer generation | Newer generation |
| Drop | Longer, shallower angle | Steeper but shorter |
| Queue | Single switchback room | Multiple themed walkthrough rooms |
| Language | English | Mostly English with a few French lines |
| Best suited for | First-time riders, no comparison expectations | Returning EPCOT riders wanting the upgraded version |
Comparison based on our own experience riding both versions. Ride details may change over time.
Our Frozen Ever After POV Video
Here is our full Frozen Ever After POV ride video filmed during the media previews at Disneyland Paris. If you want to get a feel for the ride before you visit, or you're comparing it to the EPCOT version, this gives you a good look.
What Is The Frozen Ever After Queue Like?
The Frozen Ever After queue is a significant improvement over the EPCOT version. Rather than a single room full of zig-zagging barriers, the Disneyland Paris queue takes you through a series of themed rooms before you board, with atmospheric lighting, artwork and plenty of details to keep you occupied as you move through the line, which, given this is going to be one of the busiest attractions in the park, is a very good thing.
We've since been back to ride Frozen Ever After as a paying guest rather than during the quieter media preview, and the queue held up well even with a crowd moving through it. The theming keeps things interesting even when you're stood there for a while.
How Big Is The Drop On Frozen Ever After?
The drop on the Disneyland Paris version is steeper than EPCOT's but shorter. If you've handled Pirates of the Caribbean without incident, you'll be absolutely fine here. My suspicion is the angle was deliberately tweaked to get a better on-ride photo, and judging by the results, it works.
Does Frozen Ever After Take Your Photo?
Yes, Frozen Ever After has an on-ride photo, and the steeper drop angle actually works in your favour here, giving a better shot than the EPCOT version manages. One odd note: Olaf is inexplicably absent from the photo.
Do You Get Wet On Frozen Ever After?
You're likely to get a light splash but you won't come off looking like you've been through a car wash. The boats can collect water in the bottom though, so wear appropriate footwear if you're visiting in the colder months, as soggy socks in February are nobody's idea of fun.
Is Frozen Ever After Premier Access Worth It?
Premier Access for Frozen Ever After costs between β¬16 and β¬19 per person, and it's also included as part of Disney Premier Access Ultimate. Given this is likely to be one of the busiest attractions at Disney Adventure World, especially in the months following opening, it's worth considering if you're visiting during UK school holidays or other peak periods when queue times are at their highest.

Frozen Ever After: Final Thoughts & Verdict
Frozen Ever After is, without question, a must-do if you haven't experienced the EPCOT version, and a very strong should-do even if you have.
