The day has finally arrived at Disneyland Paris - Walt Disney Studios Park is no more, and Disney Adventure World begins. Now that World of Frozen has opened - bringing with it Frozen Ever After, the Anna & Elsa meet-and-greet, shopping, dining, and the Raiponce Tangled Spin attraction on Adventure Way (and if you need to know what tickets you need, our World of Frozen tickets guide has you covered) - we now turn our attention to what's coming next for the newly reimagined park.
Up Attraction
Adjacent to the Tangled spinner ride - Raiponce Tangled Spin - will be an Up-themed attraction, though no official opening date has been confirmed yet.
The Lion King
The new land featuring a Lion King attraction was first announced at D23 back in 2024. The centrepiece is a brand-new log flume ride that'll take guests on a journey through the iconic scenery of the Pride Lands, following Simba's story from cub to king. Three drops are planned - including a rather dramatic 52-foot final plunge - and the ride will sit three guests across per log. Pride Rock itself will tower at a whopping 120 feet, so you'll be able to spot it from half the park.
The original concept art (above) gave us a peek at what we have to look forward to. Although a water ride in France's climate is certainly a choice, I think it's going to be incredible. Picture Tiana's Bayou Adventure but with The Lion King and I think that's going to be a huge hit. One part of the concept art that worried guests though was the use of the live-action characters instead of the 1994 animated classic - thankfully further concept art depicts the attraction being based on the animated version.

A behind-the-scenes book titled The Making of Disney Adventure World, which landed to coincide with the park's grand opening on 29th March 2026, has given us a closer look at the scale model of the attraction, interior concept art, and even an early glimpse at what the log vehicle might look like. Construction is well underway, with vertical building already visible from within the park alongside Adventure Bay.
There's no official opening date yet, but given the construction progress, the Pride Lands will be the next major milestone after the World of Frozen debut. After its completion, Disney Adventure World will have a triangle of tall landmarks featuring the Tower of Terror, Elsa's Ice Palace at World of Frozen, and the upcoming Lion King attraction.
What This Means for UK Visitors
For those of us hopping on the Eurostar or a short-haul flight to Paris, this is exciting news. The Lion King has always had a massive fanbase in the UK - the stage musical alone has been running in the West End since 1999 and remains one of the longest-running shows in London theatre history. There's a deep, nostalgic connection to this story for British audiences, which makes a dedicated land at a park that's just a couple of hours from London all the more exciting. A full E-ticket flume ride themed to Simba's story, with a 120-foot Pride Rock dominating the skyline? Sign me up.
