We've stayed at Disney Sequoia Lodge many times in a standard room, which we cover in our Disney Sequoia Lodge review, so this time we booked the Golden Forest Club to see what the extra money gets you. This review sticks to the club level side of the hotel. Some of it we loved, and some of it left us waiting around for hydration.

The Golden Forest Club is the club level at Disney Sequoia Lodge. You book it as its own room category, and it comes with a set of extras on top of a standard stay.

The suites aside, most Golden Forest Club rooms are otherwise the same as the standard rooms. As far as I could tell the coffee facilities, toiletries and bedding were identical, so the extra money goes on the service.

Golden Forest Club Room Types And Suites
Disney Sequoia Lodge has 1,009 rooms, and 120 of them are Golden Forest Club rooms. That's 110 Golden Forest Club rooms, including 3 for guests with disabilities, plus 10 suites. They sit on the upper floors of the main building, and ours was on the 7th.
The standard Golden Forest Club rooms are 27m² (290 sq ft) and come in standard view and lake view versions. These are separate room types, so you only get a lake view if you book that category. Both sleep up to 4 with 1 or 2 double beds. There's also a King bed room that sleeps 2, listed as "Golden Forest Club Room - Sleeps up to 2" when you book, which is the category we stayed in.
The 10 suites are roughly double the size at 55m² (592 sq ft). They also sleep up to 4, and suite guests get bathrobes and slippers, which the standard Golden Forest Club rooms don't include.

How Much Extra Is The Golden Forest Club?
For our 3-night stay, our Golden Forest Club room for 2 adults cost about £1,150. A standard room (Near Hotel Facilities) for the same dates was about £800 when we booked, so the upgrade cost us about £350, or £116.67 a night (£350 divided by 3).
Disneyland Paris uses dynamic pricing, so the premium goes up as rooms fill up. For 2 adults it usually lands somewhere between £100 and £200 a night, with around £150 being typical. The screenshot above shows a £166 a night difference for a January 2027 stay, though that's for a Lake View room, which sits at the pricier end. Pricing is also per person, so a family of 4 pays more for the upgrade than a couple does.
What The Golden Forest Club Premium Covers After Breakfast
Breakfast is the one perk with an easy price tag, so here's what's left of the premium for everything else once you take it off. These figures are for a 3-night stay for 2 adults.

Breakfast is worked out as 3 mornings x 2 adults x €25 = €150, which is about £127 at €1 = £0.848 (October 2026). The pound figures will move with the exchange rate.
Whatever's left has to cover 3 afternoon teas, 3 days of lounge drinks and the conveniences that don't come with a price tag, like private check-in, luggage handling, turndown and the in-room fridge. At our price that was about £74 a night, which felt fair. At the typical £150 it's about £108 a night, and at the top end it's about £158 a night for the same afternoon tea and soft drinks. Golden Forest Club Private Check-In And Luggage Service
Instead of queuing at the main reception, you turn left as you come into Disney Sequoia Lodge and head into the Golden Forest Club check-in area.
There are two desks, usually with a cast member at each. One guest was finishing up when we arrived, so we didn't wait long before sitting down to check in. Getting seated with next to no queue is the main draw, and there's water on hand if you need it after the journey.
We were given our room keys and paperwork and told our room was ready early. Golden Forest Club guests also get their own Magic Pass design.
If your room isn't ready, the team takes your luggage there and then, so you can head to the parks without dragging cases back out to the luggage room. Ours was ready, so we took our bags up ourselves, though they did offer to bring them up for us.
Checking out works the same way in reverse. When you're ready to leave the room, you ring the Golden Forest Club desk, leave your bags in the room and they collect them. When it's time to head home, you pick your cases up from the Golden Forest Club check-in area with very little wait, which saves hauling everything down to luggage storage on your last morning.
Our Golden Forest Club Room
Most Golden Forest Club rooms are standard sized and laid out like a standard Sequoia Lodge room. Ours wasn't. We were given one of the end rooms on the 7th floor, which are much bigger and come with a balcony, so keep in mind the photos below show a larger room than most Golden Forest Club guests will get.
I've never stayed in a room this big at Sequoia Lodge, and the bed was comfortable. The TV was painfully slow, though we don't spend much time watching TV at Disney. There's a coffee machine and kettle with coffee pods and two glass bottles of water, but the water was never topped up during any housekeeping or turndown visit, which is the sort of thing you'd expect at club level.
Every room at the hotel gets daily housekeeping, and Golden Forest Club rooms get an evening turndown on top. The bed is turned down and the curtains drawn, and you'll find a collectible card and some chocolate coins waiting on the bed. Turndown is one of the things guests love on Disney Cruise Line, so it's nice to get a version of it in a Disney hotel on land.
My one gripe with the room itself is the single wall socket by the coffee machine. You can run the lamp, the coffee machine or the kettle, but only one at a time, and swapping means crawling under the table to change plugs. I'm not sure why there isn't an extension lead under there, and hopefully it gets sorted when the refurbishment reaches the main building.
Golden Forest Club Balcony Rooms
At each end of the 7th floor there are two rooms with a balcony. Rooms 7248 and 7212 are Golden Forest Club rooms, while their neighbours 7247 and 7211 are suites.
The rest of the floor is mostly standard sized Golden Forest Club rooms, so landing an end room is rare. Room 7248 has a King bed, and we were given it after booking the "Sleeps up to 2" King room category. I'm not sure about 7212 or how many other rooms have a King bed. You can request 7248, but I'd book the King room category to give yourself a chance of getting it.
From the balcony you look across the roof of Disney Sequoia Lodge to the back and side, and to the front you can just about make out PanoraMagique and Disney Village. The front half of the balcony belongs to the suite next door.
There's a table and two chairs out there for a morning coffee when the weather plays along.

Golden Forest Club Lounge Opening Times And Access
The Golden Forest Lounge is open from 7am to 10pm daily. Breakfast is served there in the morning and afternoon tea in the, well, afternoon, and you can come and go whenever it's open for complimentary soft drinks, teas and coffees. It's a quiet, lovely room to sit in after a few hours in the parks.
It's table service, so you sit down and a cast member comes over to take your drinks order.
The trouble starts when you want a drink to go, which a cast member encouraged us to do when we first checked in. Every drink has to be served by a cast member, and when they're busy setting up or clearing away after a mealtime, there's nobody around and you're left twiddling your thumbs. The cast members themselves were lovely and kept coming over to offer more drinks when we sat in, so the problem is how the lounge is run. On two occasions there were around 4 other people waiting just to grab a drink to go. As a proper Brit I don't particularly talk to strangers, but two of them were British and two were French, and everyone was getting a bit agitated.
The lounge needs a grab and go station so guests can help themselves to a couple of drinks. Standing around waiting for a perk you've paid extra for takes the shine off. Other club lounges hand out cans or bottles to go, while here drinks are poured from large 2L bottles of Coca-Cola and other Coca-Cola owned brands into small plastic cups. The whole set-up needs a rethink.
When You Can Use The Golden Forest Lounge
Lounge access runs from your check-in to your check-out. Check-in is 3pm, so on arrival day you can make afternoon tea and use the lounge until it closes at 10pm, but you can't have breakfast that morning even if you arrive early. Check-out is 11am, so on departure day you get breakfast and your access ends when you check out.
That means a 3-night stay gets you 3 breakfasts and 3 afternoon teas. If breakfast on arrival day and afternoon tea on departure day were included, it would be 4 of each.
Golden Forest Club Breakfast & Afternoon Tea
Breakfast in the Golden Forest Lounge runs from 7am to 11am and has much the same food as the main restaurant downstairs, in a quieter room. There's a good choice of hot and cold drinks, and everything we had was fresh and tasted great.
Afternoon tea runs from around 3:30pm to 5pm (times can vary) and was a highlight of the stay. There's a spread of themed snacks and drinks to keep you going into the evening. For most people it won't replace a meal, but there's a decent amount of food and it's a nice thing to come back to after a morning in the parks.
Entry is checked more closely here than at the Empire State Club when we stayed at Disney Hotel New York - The Art Of Marvel. There, showing our Empire card was enough to get in. At the Golden Forest Lounge, staff checked our Golden Forest card against a paper list of current guests.
The breakfast is lovely overall, even if it comes with the saddest looking Mickey waffles I've ever seen.

How Does Golden Forest Club Compare To Walt Disney World Club Level?
If you've stayed on club level at Walt Disney World, Golden Forest Club is a lighter version. Walt Disney World club lounges serve food at more points through the day than breakfast and afternoon tea, with beer and wine in the evenings. Your access there also carries on until midnight on check-out day, so you can still use the lounge after you've left your room.
Golden Forest Club costs less to add on, so you're getting a smaller package at a lower price. If you're used to Walt Disney World club level, go in expecting less food and a shorter access window.
When Will Golden Forest Club Rooms Be Refurbished?
Disney Sequoia Lodge is in the middle of a phased refurbishment, but Golden Forest Club rooms aren't in the first phase. The Bambi, Brave and Pocahontas themed rooms confirmed in April 2026 are only in the five outdoor lodge buildings, and they're bookable for stays from 19th February 2027. Rooms in the main building, where Golden Forest Club is, don't have a date yet.
The outdoor lodges are going from announcement to first guests in under a year, and the main building phase also takes in the lobby, restaurant and shops. Based on that timeline, I'd be surprised if the main building rooms, Golden Forest Club included, are finished before 2028.
If you want Golden Forest Club in 2027, you'll be staying in the current rooms, so book whatever's available for your dates. Keep in mind the Redwood Bar and Northwest Passage boutique close for refurbishment from 19th February 2027, though restaurants stay open and drinks, snacks and souvenirs are sold from a retail point in the lobby.

Is The Golden Forest Club Worth The Upgrade?
For us, yes, even with the lounge frustrations. We were lucky with a big end room and most guests won't get one, but the upgrade still stacks up in a standard sized Golden Forest Club room because the value is in the service. Private check-in helps most on a busy arrival day, and having someone handle the luggage at both ends of the trip saves a lot of faff.

On the money side, breakfast alone covered about £127 of our £350 premium, leaving about £223, or £74 a night, for afternoon teas, lounge drinks and the conveniences. At the £117 a night we paid, we think that's fairly priced.
Couples and small groups who eat breakfast every morning and pop back for afternoon tea get the most out of it. Families of 4 pay more because pricing is per person, so do the sums for your party size before upgrading. If you're in the parks from opening until the night-time show, a standard room with a paid breakfast is likely to work out cheaper.
A grab and go drinks station in the lounge and a bit more in the rooms to set them apart from a standard room would make it a 5 out of 5 for us.
The price you're quoted decides it. If you can get the premium near £100 a night, the Golden Forest Club is worth it. At the typical £150, it only makes sense if you'll use the lounge for breakfast and afternoon tea every day of your stay. Towards £200 a night we wouldn't book it, and a standard room with breakfast paid separately is the better deal.
